The back looks awesome too!  Well, all three backs did but the thread on the other two matched more closely so they didn’t photograph as well.   B4

I am so far behind in posting, I am not even going to try to post them in the order I have been working on them! Here are a few I have done for Barb M since summer.

Here’s a patriotic quilt of hers that I had the pleasure of quilting.  Hand guided quilting and lettering on this one.  Omni Thread.

Julie’s Finished Memory Quilt

Here’s a quilt that Julie had started for her daughter. All the women in her daughter’s life contributed fabric which Julie then made into two blocks and embroidered their name on one of the blocks.  The blocks waited and waited, I think Julie said 10 years to become a quilt.  I met Julie when she sold us our house and we stayed in touch.  A few years later, Julie contacted me and asked if I would finish the quilt for her.  It was an awesome project! We talked over each step, picked out the border and backing, decided on the width of the sashing, the quilting pattern and thread color.  The quilt went home to Julie to gift to her daughter last summer!   African Samba digital design, Omni thread in Ocean Blue.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

I hope you enjoy my quilty story.

Before we moved 3.5 years ago, I cut up all my scraps. Some pieces were as small as 1.5 inch squares. I have been working on sewing all those scraps up. This is not my first scrappy quilt from those, but it’s the most recent. I’ll try to show the others in future posts.  Anyway, I thought I had used up all the 1.5 inch squares in other quilts.  Searching for something else, I open a drawer and find this pile.  Using them up must have been a dream!

20171006_154758

I decided to combine them with any 1.5 X 2.5 pieces I had.  My first thought was a postage stamp quilt.  I tried several arrangements, some making color paths and some just all mixed up.  It just wasn’t doing it for me, plus it wasn’t very big.20171026_111948

What happens if I add gray on point??  Okay, loving that.  However, that’s all my gray (who knows where I bought it!) and I can’t find a match in local stores… Back to the fabric stash.20180821_075325

Consulted some folks online and found some darker gray. I  didn’t have enough to go around again so, I used a tonal print for the corners.  I considered a pointy binding around the dark gray squares but gosh, do I really want to fuss that much?  Nope!  On the advice of my sister (Thanks Gail!), I added the colored triangles to finish it off. 20181029_115540

Digital design “Amaze Me” by Barbara Becker, maybe because the resulting quilt has kind of amazed me!  Dark Gray Omni thread and Hobbs unbleached 80/20 batting finish it off.

20181030_161436

Look at this great backing fabric I found locally… a really, really good sale! Perfect for this quilt.  Binding fabric was from my fabric stash. 20181121_133104

It’s a happy quilt and I’m so pleased to have my small bits used up… well most of them. You all know how that goes.

20181121_133205

It’s such a bright, sunny day, I decided a picture outside would be nice.20181121_133344

Two for Bev

This beauty has digital design Surf by Anne Bright. Light teal Superior Omni thread and client supplied batting.

This gorgeous quilt was custom quilted (freehand and ruler work)  using off white Omni thread. I used two different designs for the blocks, creating a simulated border one block in all around the quilt.  Those are the blocks with the meander background.
