Back looks great too!

Barb’s Beautiful 1/2 Square Triangle Quilt
Custom, mostly freehand quilting. Hobbs 80/20 batt, Omni thread in light gray. Love that texture on the back!!

The dark center is an automated design, “It’s so Romantic” by Sharon Schamber.
The continues curve quilting (CC’s) were done with rulers.
The last two pictures are from Barb after the quilt was bound and washed. Don’t you just love the binding?

Shirley’s Beauties
Here’s three hand-guided custom beauties for Shirley. Gorgeous quilts each in their own way. The first, this colorful star quilt! Love the texture on the back and the colors are fabulous!

Next is this adorable old-fashioned teddy bear quilt! So sweet! I used the crackle design around the back of the bears with straight lines for the floors to add some depth.

Quilting in the center star was already there on this bright and pretty star quilt. I was able to load it on my machine as is and finish off the teal areas with freehand feathers and a flower design in the border.

Beth’s Modern Tree Quilt
Beth’s modern tree quilt. Colors are best in the last picture that she shared of her finished quilt hanging in a tree. Hobbs 80/20 batting, dark gray Omni and Calm Waters digital design in a more dense application.

Showcased perfectly!

Baby Quilt Meets Woobie
Yup, I am working. Up to my old tricks of quilting and not blogging.
Here’s one you will enjoy with a little story. Sally had a special request for a baby quilt. Once the top was finished, she asked me if I could use a woobie for the batting and backing of the baby quilt. A what? Turns out a woobie is a military issue blanket/poncho liner with an outer layer of rip-stop nylon and batting that is polyester. Well, I’m game to try. First, I consulted the folks on Facebook quilting groups. I really shouldn’t have been surprised to find that putting a quilt top on a woobie is quite common. And everyone loves their woobies.
Here’s some pictures.

The woobie unadorned
Ready, set… Go!

Looking good! The design is Calm Water by Sweet Dreams Quilt Studio.

Here’s the whole quilt on the woobie. This isn’t the finished product. Sally did an amazing job of picking out fabric that would coordinate with the woobie yet be suitable for a baby. After I quilted it she trimmed it to fit the quilt and took the dark outer nylon edging off to use as binding. Turns out it was the perfect width for binding and it matched the quilt so perfectly. The quilt was soft, cuddly and turned out beautifully!

Happy Holidays!
Wishing you and yours a fabulous holiday season!
I have felt privileged and fortunate to be able to work on all your quilts. Thank you for your confidence in me!
Here’s a few of mine I did late last year and this year. Pictures show various stages of completion but rest assured they are all finished and hanging or in use.
This fun one for the Guild UFO challenge. Blocks were swapped with a member of our Big Red Quilter’s Guild and then I was challenged to do whatever I wanted with them to complete a quilt by the end of the year. It’s fun and funky! Custom free hand quilting on this one.

A gray one for me. West Wind digital design.

A small civil war quilt UFO completed. Custom freehand quilting.

Laraine’s beauties
Last two customer quilts for the year have gone home. Laraine’s beautiful modern blue & gold quilts. One with a smaller design and one with a larger version of the same design. Both quilted with Natalia Majors Geometry1 digital design. Both with Omni Ocean Blue thread and client supplied batting.

A Scrappy Patriotic Quilt
Beth’s scrappy patriotic quilt was stitched with Omni thread in Steel Blue and digital design Star Spangled Banner E2E by Wildflower Quilting. Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Almost Time to Sail Away
Vicky’s fun, beautiful sail boats quilt was a joy to quilt. Freehand custom in the block backgrounds, ruler work on the sails, digital design Cable by JoAnn Hoffman in the borders and shashing, machine generated crosshatch in the boats. Hobbs 80/20 bleached, Omni in Natural White.
